Buttons are very Stiff

I owned this same style case for my iPhone 8 and it was fantastic. The same is mostly true for my iPhone 12 mini. Looks great, protects great, but it’s only draw back is that the volume buttons are far too stiff. I’d read this about the case before purchasing and I’d seen the same complaint. The response from Otterbox was that it would break in with use, something similar to the response about the case cover being too tight. So my question is, how long until it breaks in? I’ve been using the case since January and it is still difficult to use the volume buttons. It’s a good case, but this issue keeps it from being a great one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The quality is great and I have no doubt that it has already protected my phone from near-certain cracks by my one year old and four year old.
Looks great and professional. It is bulky, but also, my phone won't break so that seems worth it.
Biggest problem is that on the iPhone 12 mini, the volume up button plus the power button takes a screenshot. This cannot be disabled. When I close the case after using my phone I want to make sure it turns off the screen so I press the power button. Because the flap of the case closes tightly and the volume buttons have been reinforced, the case itself often presses against the volume buttons. At the end of each day I find that I have taken 3-5 screenshots of my phone screen. Pretty serious design flaw for such an expensive case!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there!
We're sorry to hear that your Strada Series case has been causing you to take so many screenshots! That's certainly unusual, and we'll be sure to get your thoughts passed up the ladder to our design team. Keep in mind, over time, that case cover should "break-in" keeping it from being so tight on your device. If that doesn't get better over time, give us a ring at 1-855-688-7269, and we'd be more than happy to get you helped out.
This was a replacement for an older model which worked very well for me. This newer model is a bit harder to open (no "handle", a "slot" instead which is a little hard to get my finger in to pull it open. I think the edge will get a little beat-up from this. There is more magnet along the edge, instead of just at the handle, which some may like better to secure it closed better, but i struggle with it a bit to open it. Mostly I love it though. As usual it's too pricy but at least it works.
This Strada series case is perfect for my iPhone 12 mini and based on past successes I've had with Otter products, expect to have this phone a long time. I highly recommend the Strada series case to anyone looking to protect their iPhone.
I have never spent this much money on a case before and I am glad I did. Super nice quality, low profile, nice feel in the hand. My only tiny complaint is that the magnet is intense! It sticks to everything but I guess that also could be a nice functional feature too. Definitely a great value, super happy with this purchase.
I wasn’t sure how I’d like this style, but didn’t want a glass screen protector again. Opened or closed, the magnetic closure on the front “flap” holds true to keep it from opening on its own... and while open, it is compact. So glad I bought it!
I have only had this case for a few weeks, so I can’t speak to its durability, but it’s a very nice looking package. I had not tried a folio type case before and wanted to see if protects the screen adequately, which it does. Other reviews mention access to the buttons and those comments are true. To get the pressure required to adjust the volume, you need to use a fingernail. Some of problem is probably just the small size of the phone (the 12 mini) which is so handy that I’ll put up with stiff buttons. I like that once you have answered the phone, you can talk with the cover closed. My only real reservation about the case is how durable the cover hinge will be given that it is just a thin, flexible piece of leather. Check back in about a year.
Bottom line: case looks great, works pretty well. If it lasts well, it will be 5 stars all around.
