I am happy with this computer. It is very fast and worked very well for the large programs that I instalked for my work. The only thing I dont like about it is the aluminum shell. It needs cleaned regularly. Everywhere you touch it there is a finger print left behind. Not a big issue though.
The hardware on this thing makes it a very capable machiene. After switching from a windows 7 dekstop, this computer in comparason is simply wonderful. It has been able to play the games/simulators I want on pretty high settings, with little or no stutters. Now, if only they got my name right when setting up the computer. I'm looking at you C:\users\MisspelledFirstName.
After all the updates and setting up my new laptop, I was noticing that battery life was not good at all. I’m not sure what it is causing it. I let it die and then fully charged it, turned it on and left it open. Within a little over an hour it died, after being full charged. I wasn’t doing anything with it. Otherwise everything else appears fine, but this is no longer a laptop since it has to be plugged in always.
I bought this a month ago and received it last week. So far it's been great for playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and has excelled at all of the deep learning and imaging tasks I've thrown at it. I've been able to make some really cool pictures using Francois Chollet's Neural Style Transfer jupyter notebook. I'm really happy with the speed of the SSD too and how fast my software installs and downloads have been.
I use to have terrible lag on my old computer but now I am at 100 fps. My only complaint is the power plug unit gets extremely hot. I wouldn’t leave it unattended. I lean it against something so its not laying flat. Other than that I love the Omen.
I bought this and one day using it and I found out that the wifi adapter is defected. One week into using it and the screen turned black and never lit up again. very bad experience since I waited for a month for this laptop to come especially that I was not even offered a replacement
