Build quality is vulnerable. The build quality could be improved, specially the USB A Connectors.

Cannot use for both Mac and PC, must reformat for use with each one. This completely defeats my use for this as I need it for work files on PC and school files on Mac. How can this be fixed?

Hello, we are sorry for the inconvenience. Please note that Western Digital drives are formatted as NTFS (Windows) or HFS+ (macOS). The drive must be formatted as (exFAT) when used on both Windows and macOS computers.
Please see Answer ID 20821 (https://support-en.sandisk.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/20821) for instructions on formatting the drive for use on both Windows and macOS using exFat.
Please back up existing data as formatting is a data destructive process that cannot be undone. If you encounter any problems, you can open a ticket at (https://support-en.sandisk.com/app/askweb)
In January I bought a 512 to use on the iPad Air M2 but it is extremely slow. I looked for information on the internet but I couldn't find anything that would make it faster
