Henckels International to Zwilling Pro upgrade

When you're working and raising kids, you buy bargains and they get worn over the years. We recently retired and have been replacing various items with newer, higher quality things. We had a Henckels International (Single Man) set for the past 35 years and decided to upgrade as one of our holiday gifts to each other this year. This Zwilling Pro set is beautiful! Masterfully made. The dark block matches our dark cherry kitchen cabinetry very nicely. We also bought the 6" cleaver to complete the block. We would have also purchased the Pro carving fork but unfortunately it's not available for purchase separately. This is a set that we will be proud of for the rest of our lives. I cleaned and sharpened the old 16-piece Henkels set and donated it.

Stunning Collection of Quality Knives

This set has about every type of knife you would need to handle any sort of meal preparation. And finally, the quality...the hand weight, the sturdiness and the sharpness of the blades are so far superior than the previous set 8I had. The Zwilling, JA Henckels Pro 19pc Set will make you smile from your first opening of the box thru the heavenly feel of using them. I love the set...I know you will too! Happy Cooking!

This block have every knife you would ever need in a kitchen. The Pro line is one of the top of line Zwilling products made. the knives are made from German Special Formula Steel and forged from one piece of steel. This makes for flexible, yet durable knives. They have also been ice hardened so blade edges stay sharper longer. Each knife has a curved bolster (middle of the knife) that encourages you to hold the knife in a pinch in the correct pinch grip. No short cuts are taken when making the steak knives, they are made the same ways as the other knives. Really a life time set - and that's exactly what the warranty is, lifetime.

Everything i hoped for

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a superbly high quality knife set. I desired 8 steak knives and I'm glad they're not serrated so I can sharpen them as needed. My wife nagged me for getting them but after using them and then using her sisters knives she admitted they were quality and a good buy. My children will fight for this when I die. I just got a 6" chopper to finish the block.

Decent knife set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I'm happy with the product. You can tell it's made from good, long-lasting quality. Suoer sharp out of the box. I do wish they had a built-in blade sharpener instead of the add-on they give you. Also, some or the blades are very long but not as thick as I would like it. The chopping knives are simply not thick enough, which make it a little inconvenient to chop things. Being a little longer is also an issue. I am sure it may take some getting used to, but just not what I am accustomed to from the years of having similar products at the household level.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cut like a Pro with Pro

Pro with the innovative curved bolster makes cutting so comfortable. Holding the knife up on the blade allows much better control and less fatigue. This set contains any knife the home cook could wish for, including a boning knife and 8 steak knives. The only disadvantage is deciding which knife to choose.

This amazing set includes all the knives you need and more to utilize for all those prep tasks. It's made even better with the inclusion of those eight incomparable pro steak knives. The unique slanted slots help the knives' innovative curved bolster fit comfortably. Easily maintain the edge and angle of your German blades with frequent use of the included honing steel.
