7 Piece Self-Sharpening Block

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned a number of Zwilling / Henkels knives before, of various levels of quality, and have always been impressed by the quality. I decided to get a matched set, and the self-sharpening feature was especially appealing. I would absolutely recommend this set for any cook or chef . . . a sharp knife makes the job so much easier!

This compact block contains the essential kitchen knives, each with their own custom sharpening slot. It also let's you easily maintain the edge and angle of the blades, keeping them sharp every time you use them, without over-sharpening. The Classic knives are really well balanced with comfortable, ergonomic handles.

The Classic knife line is well, Classic.
Well balanced, 3 rivet handled with a full bolster this is a great knife to have in your kitchen.
Made from German steel in Spain this is a great knife for the value.
The self sharpening is an added bonus to this block providing you with a sharp knife every time it's pulled out of the block!

Good basic set.

This set has exactly what you need to cook a great meal, everyday if you want. It doesn't have all you'd need for more complicated prep - like boning a chicken, or for bigger meals - like carving a turkey, but it has two great workhorses of the kitchen, an 8-inch chef's and 7-inch santoku. Plus smaller knives for making salads and sandwiches. (There are two other Classic sets with a self sharpening block if you feel you need more specialty knives.)
Whichever size set you go with, you can't go wrong. They are very good knives - and an exceptional value. I really like them; I've had a set for more than 20 years. These are forged knives made of quality steel. They have a triple riveted handle, a comfortable integrated bolster. Even if they aren't made in Germany, the steel is, and their quality is unquestionable.

Great starter set, it has every knife you need in the kitchen. The knives are made from high quality German stainless steel so durable for a lifetime. Don't worry your knives will never get dull because they are in a self sharpening block and every time you pull one out, it it sharpened.
