Feed a crowd with the 13.25 Qt. cocotte! I love this size and I love this shape especially for roasting chickens or baking a boule of sourdough bread. You have enough room to add your vegetables in with the chicken, which is a huge plus. For baking bread the cast iron is perfect because it conducts heat so well, and retains the heat. The spikes under the lid collect moisture and self-baste whatever dish you are baking or roasting in the oven, all while it is cooking, so almost like you have an extra hand! You get to take all the credit though! Bread does come out perfect when baked in a staub and your chickens will come out juicy and golden brown.

The ultimate large dutch oven, I love using this pot for so many recipes. This is a great size cocotte, I’ve used the 5.5 qt before and sometimes that would be too small, but with the 13.25 qt. you’re not restricted when making large soups or dutch oven recipes. I love how well this heats up and retains the heat. I also love that the lid actually does something in the cooking process, with self-basting and keeping moisture inside the cocotte so that I don’t have to worry about my food going dry. It’s heavy, but very durable, I absolutely love this piece!

This cocotte is big enough for anything you cook in it, all in a sleek graphite grey color that is sure to fit in with any kitchen decor. The innovative self-basting lid and pre-seasoned nonstick enameled interior promises the most flavorful results every time. This big guy may be heavy duty but if you are hand washing, it is pretty easy to clean...if it fits in your sink!

This pot can handle meals big enough for a army. Even a small turkey fits nicely in side. The black enamel interior cooks so well, it browns and carmelizes beautifully. The lids with the self basting spikes keep your food so moist! The only drawback is this 13 quart is quite heavy. I have found taking the lid off to move the pot helps alleviate the weight.

I pull this pan out during the holidays when we are making crazy amounts of food daily.
Yes it great for soup and stews we use it for steaming tamales. It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish - nothing dries out and the food stays moist. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly, also stays hot for hours.
