You had me at the rooster knob!

Ok not really but it was definately a selling point!
This oval cocotte is perfect for so many recipes. You can cook anything from soups, stews and braises along with whole chickens and pot roasts.
The basting spikes on the lid keep everything moist inside the pot during the cooking process so I don't feel compelled to lift the lid and peek every hour.
The pot is so pretty it can go from stove top or oven directly onto the dinner table.
Keeps things hot for a long time and is super easy to clean!

This oval cocotte is nice and roomy for roasts and large batches of soups or stews. Like all Staub the black interior provides a nice browning and the flat lid with dimples helps to keep the juices basting back down over the whole contents as they cook. The enamel exterior clean up so nicely even if something is baked on you can scrub it off without scratching the exterior. You can feel the quality in all Staub pieces.

Some longer cut of meat or whole chicken fit better in this oval shape. But still great for soups and chilis since the cast iron heats up evenly even on a round burner. Beautiful color and the rooster knob is an added bonus.

Beautifully crafted with the rooster finial! This is a substantial pot with all the features you expect form a Staub cast iron. It is perfectly suited for roast chicken dishes such as the Coq au Vin, but I also like the shape for braising veal and lamb shanks.
Brown meats to perfection and simmer till tender! The tight filling lid with the dimples ensures continuous moisture flow. The innovative black matte interior will not stain !! go ahead and use all your exotic spices! Beauty!

Love these pots for the rustic, yet sophisticated look, all at the same time! The chicken knob gives away the wonderful surprise inside - bringing the whole chicken with potatoes or rice and veggies to the table and serving straight from this cocotte! Heats evenly and quickly and the spiked lid keeps the food inside super moist!

I absolutely love my Staub pots. This one is a great size for roasting a chicken or any other roast for that matter. I also use it for soups, stews, chili and one pot dinners. I love the way it heats so evenly and retains the heat for serving. The matte black coating on the interior cleans up so easily.

This Coq au Vin Cocotte is beautifully designed and built to last! The lids design creates an internal baster, and constantly releases liquid back into the meat. You can cover your cocotte with the lid and safely put into your oven up to 500 degrees. Believe me, once you use this cocotte you will be amazed at the meals you can create and will find a reason to use it as much as possible!

This is a great coq au vin cocotte. It is perfect for feeding a family of four. It slow cooks meats to perfection thanks to its' self-basting lid which locks in moisture. The turquoise is simply exquisite and is truly a statement piece.
