worth the investment

I love Staub in general, especially this pan. I love the shape, the color, the even browning of my food, the adorable and interchangeable knob, the perfect seal of the lid to lock in moisture. I seriously can not say one bad thing about this piece. Everyone should own one.

This black matte coq au vin perfectly matches the enamel coated interior, designed for expert browning and searing. The nonstick interior also allows for food to easily release and clean up is a breeze. The lid features Staub's innovative self-basting spikes that help to evenly distribute moisture so you get the most flavorful, textured results. And who doesn't love that rooster knob?

So there is nothing better than a chicken roasted in a dutch oven. I love the high straight sides on this and the oval shape is the best for a bird. I can arrange my root veggies evenly spaced around the sides. I would like to find a small oval rack, to sometimes be able to use in the bottom to lift a roast slightly.. not a big deal but it would be a nice option since oval racks are hard to find. it would be awesome in cast iron too! You can cook low and slow utilizing the basting lid and then remove it to get a nice crisp on the top ofthe bird.

Now this is a beatiful dutch oven. I love the white color, I love the oval shape and that amazing rooster knob makes my heart sing! This is a perfect pot for roasting a good sized bird. plenty of space around for circulation and for veggies. This color is so beautifully stunning against the black grates on my range. it pops and everyone notices when the y come into my kitchen

Great Shape for Cooking

I was looking at a lot of different shapes and sizes when I was in the market for a cast iron pot and I love how this one is an oval shape and it also is a great size for the amount of food I typically need to make. I have made a whole roasted chicken in this pot and it's great! I love this pot!

Some longer cut of meat or whole chicken fit better in this oval shape. But still great for soups and chilis since the cast iron heats up evenly even on a round burner. Beautiful colors and the rooster knob is an added bonus.

I love this standout turquoise color from Staub and I think the rooster knob just makes this whole piece pop. The coq au vin is so versatile and features all the best things Staub has to offer. The self-basting lid will ensure your food is perfectly flavored and the enameled cast iron interior promises ideal results by expertly browning and searing your food. The heat distribution and retention of the cast iron will keep your food warm for a really long time. Easy to clean too!

Tailor made for browning and roasting chicken and other chicken dishes such as chicken poulet. It's also a great shape and size for braised veal shanks and leg of lamb. The innovative black matte interior and dimples under the lid provide excellent heating, moisture control without staining. Everything you would expect form Staub! Love the rooster finial!
