Beautiful Dutch oven!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was blown away by the color when I opened the box - the white truffle is more of a light grey than white and it is stunning. The size is perfect for my family of five and I’m looking forward to many years of cooking in this!

Not only is it versatile, it can go from the stove to the oven without issue, but it’s also beautiful! Excellent job STAUB, excellent job.

Seriously, this bright cherry oven is the best pot in my house, and I have plenty! On Sundays I always make a chicken stewed in wine and veggies, hence the name Coq au vin, the shape is perfect to cook everything easily without crowding anything. The basting lid keeps the top of my Chicken moist until I remove the lid for a touch of crisping, I bring it to the table and serve the veggies from there because it is so lovely and the lid suggests what will be coming too. This is one piece that will make you smile everytime you even think of making a roast chicken, or any other protein that fit better in an oval cocotte!

I love this Staub cocotte! My daughter gave me this cocotte for my birthday one year and I have been using it ever since! That was over 10 years ago and it looks like I just took it out of the box. I made the signature dish in it this past Christmas and it came out beautifully. The dark enamel inside is perfect for browning and then the spikes on the underside of the lid are perfect for braising. The spikes collect mositure on the lid spikes and drops them back down into the cocotte for self-basting. My Coq au Vin came out tender and the sauce had reduced perfectly.
