Robust Toy that Engages the Whole Family

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our entire family loves this toy (Mom, Dad, brother, and sister). We opened the box and immediately had an incredible time devising our own track layouts and figuring out how to use the self-pump feature to propel our cars. The cars are so fast! In the beginning, we just played with the incredible potential of both building configurations and trying out the different provided cars to see how they compared. Then, we downloaded the Hot Wheels ID app, and we were completely blown away at how it expands the track play. We were able to scan the provided cars into the "garage" easily, and we all enjoyed looking at all the optional cars we can add to the garage both physically (through additional purchase) or online. Our kids did get slightly frustrated with cars flying off the track in the loop or jump set-up, but it was an exercise and teachable moment in both patience, perseverance, and the importance of problem solving. After the kids went to bed, as parents we had a absolute BLAST playing with the track challenges in the app. We will be playing with this often and for a long time. We have already ordered a few additional cars to add to our track play! The track is both robust in options and appeal to all age levels. A truly unique addition to our family play.

Frustrating product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had a number of very frustrating experiences with this toy. 1) it came with 5 parts missing, many of which where important parts. Customer service sent us the needed parts. We appreciate that! 2) The plug that goes into the wall is WAY too short, and broke upon first use. 3) There needs to be video instruction for how to put this together. I must say, it was the most frustrating toy to put together. I highly recommend Mattel make video instructions.
My son, told me I better give this 5 starts, because he loves it. (He is 5 and doesn't understand all of the things the toy cant do because of the challenges we have been having, but an older kid will!) I want to give it 0 stars, he wants 5, so I will give it 2.
I do not know if there are challenges, because it is a new toy and kinks haven't been worked out- but I would not recommend this product, especially at the price point it is at.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
