Simple, reliable, well designed evaporative cooler

You'll find a huge variance in opinions on evaporative coolers. I live in CA and have used the cooler in San Francisco (very humid, 45 - 65 percent humidity) and Sonoma (dry during the day, 25 - 35 percent humidity). Evaporative coolers work best in hot and dry climates. In SF, the cooler keeps the air humid and the temperature more stable - but it doesn't do a great job cooling a 1,050 sq/ft loft (to be fair, that's not a reasonable expectation for this unit anyway). In Sonoma, the unit consistently keeps a large living room and kitchen 4-5+ degrees cooler than the rest of the house and raises the humidity 5-10 percent. On a hot dry day, this feels like a huge difference. It's the nice cool "walk in the front door" feeling you want when it's hot outside.
The unit itself is well designed and sturdy. As others point out, it's taller than you think it is. The fans are really powerful, which also means you'll hear them. But they move a lot of air around quickly which is great.
Critiques, as others have noted, the water basin under the fan can be difficult to access if you want to add cool packs. Also, the display lights are a very faint red so they're difficult to read in moderate sunlight and hardly visible in brighter light.
Overall, it's a great value and I'm really happy to have something to help beat the summer heat and keep the air comfortably cooler and humid.

Perfect for our dry dessert weather. It's was extremely easy to set up and use. Cooled my house pretty quick and my son is obsessed with it. He stand in front of it all day.

I love that it keeps my home nice and cool! It's saving my family and I a ton of money not to run the air conditioning, definitely need to get more of these! It also is easy to operate and looks nice and sleek in any home. I recommend this to anyone, because it is so handy to have.

I was a little hesitant when getting this, but I was quickly reassured!! Super easy to put together, don’t let the size intimidate you, like it did me. Takes about 5 minutes to put together and you can pretty much go right into using it!! It’s surely helped keep us cool through this hot, Arizona summer. My kids beg me to move it to their rooms! It will be a product we enjoy and use more months than not! Highly impressed.

Great cooling system!

This unit came while we were packing for our camping trip, so we took it with us. We have a 22 ft trailer that we take up to Havasu where it is 110 degrees during the day. It was easy to assemble, fill and turn on. It cooled our trailer down quickly in tandem with the air conditioner. So cold was the air, that our heat turned on in the morning.
I love this little unit!

Perfect for dry weather

I’m no longer suffering in our dry dessert heat. This cooler fits into my house perfectly and has a sleek design its not an eyesore. It’s perfect for my home and my dogs love it as well.

Not as cold as expected

I am new to this product and I thought it would be colder not like a fridge cold but certainly more than average room temperature.
Can anyone advise on how to get more than average cooler air?
