I do think the monitor works great when on - but finding it doesn't sleep effectively - the monitor continues to flicker in the standby screen / doens't ever fully turn off unless you manually power-off.
Wake also sometimes doen't pickup - sometimes need to unplug the power soruce and re-plug to detect computer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had 2 of these monitors. First worked great, until a vertical black band appeared on the left of the screen. Tech support couldn't fix, so they sent me a replacement monitor. Great. That worked fine for a few days, until suddenly the whole screen went black & wouldn't come back on. Maybe a new replacement?
