[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an 11 year old son that loves Harry Potter and Legos. When I saw this astronomy tower, I was super excited. It's a very large building and there are so many little details like books on the bookshelf, candles in several places, a table covered with little plates and food, spell books and a broom. All the lego characters are cute too and it's fun to try and figure out who they are. My son still has 1 bag left to build, but I am so impressed with this set. I'm excited to see the whole thing put together, but the little individual buildings are neat to explore. It is a bit difficult to build as there are so many tiny pieces, but there is a huge manual that gives detailed instructions to tell you where everything goes. So as long as you follow it, you don't skip anything. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves Legos and Harry Potter.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter was always asking me for a Lego set and the harry potter Hogwarts astronomy tower was right up her alley. This was something new for her. She has always loved Lego. I was just concerned it might have been a little complicated for her since she was only nine. Well she proved me wrong and assembled it by herself.
This is my 6th Harry Potter Lego set and i enjoyed putting this together one also. I found it fairly easy to put together my only complaint is the red, I am guessing lights (bag four) the branches that they are attached to are not secure and can fall out easy so may want to work that kink out but either way looking forward to another Harry Potter lego set soon!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter is obsessed with any and everything Harry Potter. So she was beyond excited when this Harry Potter Astronomy Tower by Lego arrived on our doorstep. She jumped up and down with excitement and opened it immediately. The directions were easy to follow but it was a tiny bit challenging due to the many pieces, 971 to be exact. Nevertheless, my daughter persisted and sat in her room building this astronomy tower for about 4 hours. She finally got it put together and played for hours with the tower and the little figurines that came with it. She said she loves all the different rooms in the tower that give her endless ways to play. She is so happy with it and has added it to her collection of harry potter lego sets. We both recommend this astronomy tower to any Harry Potter lover or just lovers of Legos!
Overall the set is a nice build. I found the introduction of the white frames to be a distraction from the set in its entirety, and found a way around then in the build; they break the continuity of the castle if you choose to build all the sets. While I appreciate the details, I also feel like too much information was crammed into the set, not making for the easiest play.
