Great Display Piece, Could Be Better
on September 17, 2020
Posted by: SonOfABeanbag
Preface: As someone who loves Star Wars, Legos, and pixel art, this set immediately became a must-have. The Vader one looks a bit off, so I altered it to be more akin to its AWESOME concept art. The attached picture is a comparison of the box art and my altered version.
The Set: Overall, it's a great set. It looks super cool across the room, but it's still neat to see the intricacies up close. It's sturdy and thick enough to stand upright if you don't have anything to lean it against. The surplus of studs is also a positive, just in case you want to modify it. My only real gripe is the sub-par Vader art compared to its AWESOME concept art.
I hope these types of sets do well, because I would love to see more of them.

Looks Awesome! 3-1 Set

Took me three days to build taking my time each day (2-3 hours) The ultimate Vader that requires 3 sets to build is really cool when finished. It definitely stands out especially when in my room.
Building was fun I'm a bit nervous to check into the higher builds with legos and this for a first try was awesome and perfect for any skill level. (Beginner)

I received this for Christmas and took my time with the build. The instructions are very clear and this is easy to put together. I built the Darth Maul version and absolutely love it! I will be buying another do the other build options.

I loved building this set, and would recommend to friends and LEGO builders of all different skill levels. It's a very relaxing build, and I enjoyed the fact that it comes with it's own frame that you also create.

Impressive Finished Product

While I certainly wouldn’t call this the most exciting build, seeing the picture come out as you put it together it is quite satisfying. The accompanying podcast that LEGO made was perfect for helping maintain interest, and would be great for those that don’t enjoy color-by-number type projects. The finished product is stunning, and larger than I was anticipating. Overall I would say it’s a worthwhile purchase because the finished product is top notch, but not necessarily because of the building experience. Yes, the bags aren’t labeled, and yes, you might need scissors to open them. I would recommend sorting them into labeled plastic bags for sure. It made the whole process much easier.

Got one as a present and as soon as i saw the Darth Vader combo portrait i knew i had to buy 2 extra ones to make it happen... Glad to say i did not regret as the resulting piece is astounding...Instructions for the big piece are only available as PDF and follow the same tile by tile format as the normal portraits..A must buy if you are a Star Wars geek/nerd / fan

The Ultimate Darth Vader is Ultimate

Overall a fun build. My hands will be hurting for days picking up all this small prices but the finished product looks amazing hanging on the wall. Would recommend them to anyone who likes legos or puzzles.
I do have two suggestions for future Art Lego kits
1. Number the bags. We shouldn’t have to guess which color you are referring to in the manual. 2. If your going to have special sets. There should be an included manual. Having to print 91 pages on a color printer and it has to be color. Cost a pretty penny.
