My daughter built this for me and had fun while doing it. We watched pirate movies and she built while watching. The details of the sails and cables is cool. Even has a treasure chest and cannons that work. Goes great with the light house. Oh, and beware of the shark!

Love pirates! Cool ship. Complements Barracuda Bay

Only got back into lego after barracuda bay retired and was on the fence between this (since it's still on shelves) and the aftermarket. Opted to get Barracuda Bay in aftermarket and I love it... Although Barracuda Bay can be built back into the ship, I prefer it in island Form as there's more of a story happening than just the ship. Thus, I wanted a ship and opted to get this as well. In the end, I getting both, lol. It's detailed for the size. It looks way better in real life than on the box IMO. Worth the money. Barracuda is the better set, but this is also great for the price, size and piece count... Very nice detail with everything brick built. I didn't build the shark however, it looks too silly. Brick built sails are interesting too. Not ever bothering with alt builds, although they in itself look great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new LEGO Pirate Ship is amazing! This set can actually build three different sets all in one. The instruction booklets for each build are included. We decided to build the actual pirate ship itself. The build took my 12 year old a couple days, working for 2-3 hours each time. He didn’t rush to build it, so I’m sure it could be built quicker. The features of the built ship are pretty awesome! Our favorite parts were the sail of the ship and the working cannons! They actually shoot little cannonballs out of them, my boys thought this was so cool. The pirate ship comes with a few different Lego mini figures and an awesome shark with working jaws! This has by far been my sons favorite LEGO build he has done.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lego got it right again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Lego Creator 31109 3 in 1 Pirate Ship set with 1260 pieces and it was a BEAST! We had an amazing time putting it together. My 12 year old grandson loves LEGO's and Pirates so this was a home run hit for this Grandma! It wasn't as hard as I was expecting it to be but it was still a bit of a challenge. Between work and school stuff we had it done in 4 evenings and it looked great. I like the size of it (not too big but not small either). He is proudly displaying it on his night stand. But we are definitely going to do the Skull Island as soon as he gets ready to take it apart. Lego has been a favorite in our home for years and this one was no exception- great product!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Depressing cannons

There is space for 4 cannons, yet I was given 2. AND half the time they don't even work. I was honestly expecting better. Disappointing Lego

Where are the cannons?

While it is a great set, why only supply 2 cannons when there is room for 4? It seems like a cop out, and a lousy way to save a buck. The same occurred for the Pirates of Barracuda Bay set. There is room for 8 cannons and you only give the customer 3? It makes the set feel incomplete. Charging a little bit more to supply the full armament would go a long way to get a better review.

Bag 6 is horrible

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this as a birthday present, I got through bag 5 with absolutely no issues, like any other lego set I’ve built, but bag 6 was horrible. At least 1/3 of the pieces were missing. I have a lot of extras so I could substitute some but there were some I had to specially order.. I have NEVER had missing pieces in any set. I was extremely disappointed. And now I am stuck until I receive the missing pieces.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Happy to see LEGO Pirates back!

This set, along with Pirates of Barracuda Bay, feel like a lure on whether LEGO will invest in a wave of Pirate sets in the future. Well Im happy this seems to be selling as well as it is. I love original LEGO IPs.
This is my first Pirate ship since the early 2000s and LEGO hit it out of the park as far as im concerned. Good price, good amount of minifigures (considering this is in the creator line), fun build. Brick built masts, shark/parrot; though the original single molds still hold a place in my heart...
If I had ONE complaint, I would have liked to seen another minifigure (female perhaps?) or two extra cannons just to flush the set out a tad more.
