You can put the cannon in the windows. Do not try to move it because it could break. If you are a kid, have an adult help you.

A Mantle Worthy Ship

This is my first Lego ship and I am really impressed with the build. I would much rather see this as a stand alone set instead of a 3-in-1 but I have to take what I can get and I'm just happy Lego has released another Pirate ship. At first I didn't want to purchase this set bc I didn't think the brick-built sails looked as good as cloth. I don't have a ship with cloth sails to compare this to, but the brick built sails look good. Again, I would have rather had a new ship in the Pirate theme or even and expert Creator stand alone set bc although I really like the set, I do believe it is lacking in some aspects. The set only includes 2 cannons. There are four cannon ports. The set only includes 3 mini figures and a skeleton. I think for this size of a set and price we should get 4 or even 5 mini figures. That's why I say a stand alone set would have been better. There are extra pieces after building the ship that could've been more figures and 2 more cannons. Overall this is a fun set and a beauty to display. I hope Lego continues to release Pirate ships often in the future. If so I will be buying them.

What a great model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My autistic son put this pirate ship together, the step by step instructions made it super easy to build. Also you can build more then one thing, this made for hours and hours of fun! Let’s not forget to mention the great detail in this set even the inside of the ship is very detailed after it’s built, this made for a great build.

ONE OF THE BEST PITATE SETS EVER MADE!!

At first I wanted the lego pirates of barracuda bay set but it was way out of my price range. So I looked for more pirate themed sets and this set caught my eye! So anyway after getting it and building it I knew it was worth the money! The ship it’s self was a little to small so I modified it and made it longer and it’s every thing I hoped for!

Pretty Good…

The ship is pretty cool and the build was satisfying enough, but I’ve got two complaints, both about the cannons. First off, I wish they had included four canons- there are four canon ports, but they only give you two guns? That’s kinda lame, but not a deal breaker. The second issue, a little more significant, is that the canons don’t really function how they’re supposed to. The firing action is really cool, but the single-peg plates that they use to secure the canons don’t actually hold onto them tightly enough to pull the firing plunger. Every time I try to fire, the canon just comes detached from the ship. This was easily remedied by replacing the 1-peg 2x2 plates with standard 4-peg 2x2 plates, but I feel like Lego should have just designed it so it doesn’t have to be fixed by the consumer. Oh well.

Thanks for letting us know there's trouble on the high seas! We suggest making sure the cannons are firmly pushed down into both plates and this should make them secure enough to be fired without coming loose.
