[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as an upgrade to go with a new stove I ordered. I was able to install it myself, as instructions are clear. It looks fabulous and syncs with my new stove to automatically turn the ventilation on and off with the burners. When Daylight savings came it was a quick button on my phone to sync the time. Definitely pricey and felt like a little bit of a splurge but the multifunctions (grill, oven) make it worth the cost.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I like it but…….

I have had this microwave for 3 months. I like it a lot but there definitely is a learning curve. I have to get out the instructions every time I use anything other than just the regular time feature. I wish there were fewer steps for doing things like softening butter etc. I’m a baker and it would come in handy but I can’t seem to even memorize how to do it. Too many steps. I do have a question. Why are there so few options on how to use the Slim Fry? You only offer frozen food directions. What if I want to reheat leftover fried food? Nothing in the directions or manual tells me how to do that. Major flaw!
Installation was a bear! Should have paid to have it done!!!

Very poor service

This unit was installed in our house 2 years ago by the contractor building the house. It stopped working and started making a loud buzzing noise. The tech determined that the magnetron had shorted. This part is guaranteed by Samsung for ten (10) years. However, the cost to replace it is not. They quoted me a repair charge of $300 plus $80 for misc parts. And the price could be much higher depending on travel time to my home. Samsungs response was "that's our policy".

MOSTLY FANTASTIC MICROWAVE-LOVE SMOOTH FACE

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LOVE THE STYLE OF OUR NEW MICROWAVE AND FUNCTIONS ARE GREAT....EXCEPT FOR ONE THING. THE FAN BUTTON IS EASILY INITIATED AS I UNCONSIOUSLY DRAG MY HAND ACROSS IT WHEN ENTERING INFO TO USE THE MICROWAVE. ALSO LEARNING TO USE SETTING THE CLOCK IS A LITTLE TIME CONSUMING.

Easy install and works good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this microwave about 2 months ago and overall it is a wonderful microwave. My only critiques are even though the wattage and power is supposedly the same as our previous older microwave, it takes longer to heat the food and sometimes the plate is extremely hot, while the food is not. Then the other one is that the location of the fan button is constantly getting touched and turns the fan on when just trying to open or close the door. It was very easy to install.

this is a very large unit for an over-the-range microwave. we have a small cabinet above ours and wishing we'd gone with a smaller unit because it does come down lower than expected over the cooktop. that being said, i love the convection option. the only big change i would suggest for samsung would be to move the fan button to a different spot. it's too close to the handle and we're constantly turning it on when opening the unit.

Hi Trixee68,
Thank you for your honest feedback, and we hope you are in good health. We are glad that you have decided to have a Samsung microwave be part of your household. Your feedback helps us understand where we can take steps to improve our product and service.
I have shared the user manual of your microwave below. Please access the link for your reference to the features and functions of the microwave.
I bought this and the door doesn’t close all the way, it’s in all in one for my RV so I really don’t need or want to deal with a repair guy being sent out as I travel.
Response from Samsung USBy Samsung Care, May 22, 2025
Hi Jerome,
Thanks for sharing that—traveling with an RV should be all about freedom and convenience, not unexpected hiccups with equipment. I can see how having a door that won’t fully close could take away from that experience, especially when you're on the move and looking to keep things simple.
We would love to speak to you directly to gather more information about your experience and determine what steps can be taken to help with your microwave model. Please feel free to get back to us via the following options:

Overall? It's fine.

I have owned this microwave for over 2 years now so I feel fairly qualified to make a review: It's a fine microwave. (Note: I am some who doesn't really use a microwave.) Our other microwave crapped out (a Samsung, came with the house) so I replaced it with one that would fit the mounting hardware already there. Also, I wanted to get rid of my air-fryer taking up space on the counter (more on that below)
Pros: - It's works as it should, heats food - Convection oven works, the "Roast" function is kinda useless, but normal convection bake is great when you don't want to use your oven. - Smart App is awesome when making food in the morning. When the oven heats ups I can set the time before I jump in the shower from my bedroom (or while I am walking the dog!) and not worry about my morning frittatas being overcooked.
Cons: - Defrost is totally useless. For meat, best to set to half the weight... it will still be stiff, but at least it's not cooked. They really need a firmware patch. The manual says to line your meat with strips of aluminum...oh yeah, I got time for that. The last Whirlpool I had was a champ at this.. from fillets to 5 lbs pork shoulders... everything defrosted perfectly. I miss that... but a water bath to defrost is pretty fast too. Weirdly, the "fish" defrost actually works well. - Slim Fry. SO DUMB. There are set things you can cook with it, all garbage food that no one out of college would eat. (potato skins?! Chicken nuggets?! (okay, if you have kids at home, might be good)) BUT As I said before, it's a decent convection oven and that's basically what "air fryer" is. So use the convection oven for your air fry needs. Is it as good as my Cuisinart Convection/Air Fryer? No, but it's 80% there and it's one less appliance I need.
In conclusion: You get a microwave and a convection oven that hangs over your range freeing up valuable counter space. I am happy with it.
