Bought a chuck roast on sale and in minutes we had beautiful ground beef. Much better tasting (and looking) than store bought. Next we are trying sausage!
I got my meat grinder attachment for my wife's mixer as a Christmas gift. I always thought it would be fun to make my own sausage. It was easy to assemble and attach it to the mixer, at first it wasn't working very well and it got clogged up with fat. I cleaned up the blade and started again, this time I fed it slower instead of filling up the chute and mashing it with the pusher and it worked perfectly. When I finished it was easy to clean, took it apart and used a glass brush and soapy water. Over all it is a great product and my first batch of sausage turned out great! It also does more than just grind meat.
I love making zucchini bread but never had a way to grind the zucchini. Now I've given away two loaves and have three more in my freezer for Christmas gifts! I wouldn't part with this for anything.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Still experimenting. Make sure your meat is almost frozen. I believe that mine wasn't cold enough to grind properly. I tried grinding a chuck steak to make my own burgers. A lot of it came out in a single pink stream, and was wrapped around the spindle part.
Works like a dream once I assembled it correctly (I initially put the grinder blade in backwards). I love this and use it all the time. I don't buy ground meat at the grocery store anymore. It is also very easy to clean and store, which is fantastic.
