The dehydrator works as advertised and is made of high quality materials. It has one fault though: there needs to be more space between the lower trays.
The first thing I attempted was banana chips. I followed the directions from the manual and they never did harden liked they do when I make them in the oven. Overall not impressed.
This unit works well, but I have purchased another one due to the fact that you cannot easily buy extra trays or tray liners (I use this for items that are too small such as carrots, corn and celery). It is a good basic unit. It functioned well. I did think it was loud.
Very Nice my husband loves beef jerky and we have enjoyed making several different batches so much cheaper than buy the jerky at the store and taste so much better too! We are looking forward to doing other things drying fruit, herbs...ect!!!
First time I used it, I was rather cautious and didn't know exactly how long I should dehydrate the fruits. After reading some helpful hints on the internet I learned how to prevent the fruit from sticking to the trays. The last time I used it it was wonderful. I put a dab of EVOO on a paper towel and ran it over the trays. Then I turned the dehydrator on High and let it go. The result was fantastic. The fruit came right off, did't stick. The fruit was not bendable, but dehydrated to perfection. I am a brand name shopper. I can always depend on Cuisinart for dependable products in my kitchen.
I do basic dehydrating and haven’t ventured into jerky yet but wanted a dehydrator with a fan. After reading numerous reviews for more expensive units I went with my gut and stuck with a brand I trust. I own many other cuisinart products and have never had any complaints. One day I’ll try jerky making
