Should have checked this model out more than I did. It does not have a water gauge on the outside of this model and the part that holds the filter does not sit right and the water does not go through and backs up and the end result is a royal mess.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My wife and I have probably purchased 7 Cuisinart coffee makers in the past 20 years. They last a long time and make a great cup of coffee. The reason we purchased so many is we had multiple residences. It was not because the coffee makers were failing. I would guess that ours last about 10 years with heavy usage.I would recommend purchasing one. I do not think that you would be disappointed. We have family members that have them too. Hope Cuisinart does not screw up the design.

The only problem is that it shuts off after about an hour. I have to turn it on to on again to warm the coffee. I don't know how to correct this.

I brought this great coffee maker after purchasing two others before! Makes great coffee, always on time and keeps our coffee very hot. You can make such easy adjustments to have the taste and strength you desire! Very easy to clean and program! Price unbelievable for the great quality of the coffee maker! Filters for water and coffee are so easy to locate for purchase!
