We had a brewer that you couldn’t control the heat setting on the plate, which meant the coffee got colder faster. I love the idea that I control how hot the coffee gets and how long it stays hot. Would definitely recommend.

First and foremost the Brew Central 12 Cup Programmable Coffeemaker produces and excellent cup of fresh, hot coffee. I use it with plain tap water but always with the charcoal filter in place, and could not be happier with the consistent and excellent coffee quality. I have a couple of minor gripes, thus the absence of the 5th rating star: The digital display window and all of the exterior function printing is a bit small and difficult for some of us elderly folks to see, and the absence of an external window or indicator to display the tank fill level (available in 14 Cup Coffeemaker) is somewhat inconvenient. All in all it's a really good coffeemaker, and produces an excellent cup of hot coffee.

Blows Grounds All Over Or Let's Dregs Through!

I like the coffee maker BUT: when I use the gold metal coffee ground filter, it lets a lot of dregs through and into the coffee, and when I use a paper filter (never both at the same time), the coffee maker perks with such force that the grounds are blown up the sides of the filter and, if I want to brew 10 or 12 cups, the grounds are blown all over the inside of the filter area making it a mess to clean up. Why, and what's to be done about it???

This my second Cussinart coffeemaker and I really like them. The last one lasted 5 years and it makes good coffee. I am a big coffee drinker as well as my family and I think this coffee maker is the best one for value.
