I have the "original" Cuisinart ice cream maker (for years). One of the problems with it is that significant amounts of the ice cream is left on the paddles and the freezing bowl which requires scraping it off the paddles and scraping out the ice cream in the bowl . The soft serve ice cream maker dispenses the ice cream and it seemed there was less to scrape out. Nothing prevents you from dispensing the ice cream into a container and further freezing it. I haven't used the mix-in dispenser yet so cannot comment on the usefulness of this
I would recommend this to a friend!

Couldn't wait to start using it. Very easy to make some soft serve ice cream. One little draw back when it over mixes you get a butter aftertaste, just need to tweak the recipes

This ice cream maker is pretty good - very cool to watch it churning! I don’t like how it spits out the ice cream in little weird blobs but you get what you pay for - it wasn’t all THAT expensive! Fun to have homemade soft ice cream with all natural ingredients! I find freezing the mix-ins helps them dispense more evenly into the ice cream. It takes about 22 minutes from the time you turn the machine in until the ice cream is the right consistency. Good product though.
