This was an anniversary gift from my wife (5 years!) and despite my initial trepidation and not the best 1st attempt -- we nailed the formula on the second time around -- and Oh. My. Gosh... So delicious! Rich, creamy and the perfect consistency. Definitely ate more than my share. And I don't care who knows it. A wonderful machine with a fantastic product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

1. It’s nice that I can make as many servings as I want. 2. The recipes included aren’t good. Find one on the internet. 3. It is a good price and it does work. 4. The mix-ins come out too fast, so nothing consistently mixes in because you have to close and open the mix-in shuttle. 5. The saddest part for me... there is not a smooth flow like Dairy Queen or the photo. The churning blades chop the ice cream as it flows out, giving you 2-3 inch pieces. I tried turning the machine off before dispensing, but then no ice cream flows out.

We received this as a gift. First off, I love how convenient it is to make a batch of ice cream. I have made several batches, however, I can’t seem to get the ice cream into a cone without collapsing to a cold wet mess. We always have to just stick it in a bowl and put it in the freezer to harden and eat it from a bowl. I have tried to mix it a little longer with the same results and when I leave it in even longer, it’s too frozen to dispense from the handle part and I have to scoop it out of the bowl. Even then, I can’t scoop it and put it on a cone. It’s very convenient to make a batch to just freeze, but if I had known all the issues with the cones, I would have just returned it and gotten one of the older kinds of ice cream makers.

Doesn't work worth a darn. All I got was cold soup. The bowl was in our zero degrees freezer for 24 hours. I used a commercial mix made by Dole and used the correct proportion of mix to very cold water. Still just got cold soup. Also, parts are very flimsily made. One of the add-in dispensers fell on the floor and broke. We have owned in the past and still own today several Cuisinart products with which we have been very happy. This isn't one of them.

The ”drum” needs to freeze for 24 hours or more or the ice cream will not freeze. The quantity it will freeze at a time is a small amount for the amount of work it requires. And then you have to wait at least another 24 hours before it’s ready to freeze another batch
