I am very dissatisfied with this product . Just as the ice cream begins to thicken , the motor makes screeching sound and needs to be turned off . This appears to be a problem with the ice cream hardening on surfaces of the container . I can't figure out how to make a batch without this problem .
Makes the most delicious, fresh ice cream we’ve ever had. Love it! I was concerned about another “one use” appliance into our home. My son got it for his 12th birthday. He loves soft serve and gelato. This is easy for him to use with the recipes it comes with - and clean up is pretty simple. We freeze the left over soft serve and it becomes delicious hard scoop ice cream. Lots of fun. Mix-in contraption is fun but messy ( seems to go everywhere)
This is probably more of a novelty item than a serious soft serve ice cream maker. Even with everything as cold as possible the first portion of soft serve is kind of runny. It does thicken to a more appropriate consistency after dispensing about 1 cone's worth of ice cream. However, once it dispenses it does not come out in a steady stream, but rather, in about 4-6 inch segments. This makes it difficult to prepare that nice looking cone you might expect. The "Mix-it-in" is also more of a novelty and you are probably better off just sprinkling toppings on at the end. All of that negative being said, it is still a fun way to make ice cream for children (and adults alike). If you do not go into this appliance expecting to make soft serve like your favorite local franchise/establishment I think you can have a great deal of fun with this item.
I received this as a gift for Christmas! It is so easy to use and a lot of fun! I’m so happy to have it! The little containers to add in ingredients are so cute! My kids loved choosing their add ins! This is the best treat maker for the family!
this unit is straight forward, my biggest complaint is the topping containers if you bump them they will fly off and your toppings will go everywhere. the decorative top piece just sits there and adds no stability. the containers themselves are only hanging there. I had a child try to lift the dispenser button(instead of pull) and the container lifted and fell to the ground. The individual lids for the topping also just sit there. which in theory would be good enough but any parent would rationalize this is not good enough. Even when boxing it back up to store my arm his the topping containers and they all fell off STUPID DESIGN !!!!
