I purchased this HP Omen laptop about a month ago and have had it for a few weeks now. I am pleased with its performance and features. I got this mainly for gaming (Final Fantasy XIV/CIV VI) and so far everything runs great! These are the specs I chose to go with:
•1 TB 7200 rpm SATA; 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
•16 GB DDR4-2933 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)
•17.3" diagonal FHD 60 Hz IPS anti-glare WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080)
•Intel® Core™ i7-10750H (2.6 GHz, up to 5 GHz, 12 MB L3 cache, 6 cores) + NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Ti (6 GB)
I have owned HP and been using an old HP Pavillion laptop that still runs from like 2010 so I knew I wanted to go with HP again. HP Omen products were very highly recommended on a lot of review sites/videos so I knew I had to give this laptop a shot.
One thing I really like is Omen Command Center. It helps me keep track of the system's temp and utilization for long gaming sessions. I didn't know about this app prior to purchasing the laptop so I'm pleasantly surprised by its usefulness when gaming. :-) It's cool to see how the GPU/CPU temps drop immediately when I shut down my games.
The only thing that I do not like so far is battery life when the system is unplugged. I can't game for very long at all without being plugged into an outlet. So that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. The battery lasts *maybe* 2 hours while I'm running my games. But aside from gaming the battery is solid and I browse the web and do normal tasks (youtube, etc) for quite a while on a single charge so overall I'm satisfied.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My HP Omen laptop is supposed to come with the Bang & Olulfsen software. It does not have it!!!! Also, the screen brightness function doesn't work. It's really disappointing when you have to search for a fix online - that may or may not work to fix a brand new laptop!! I'm sick and tired of HP not being prepared for Windows Updates - if that is the cause of this. And if so, not putting out patches in a timely manner! Very disappointing!!

Excellent Feature to Price Ratio

I buy a new gaming laptop every 4-5 years. I learned from experience that, when you travel a lot, being confident you can work on anything is worth the weight and the added cost and gaming laptops are built to run.
This is my first HP gaming laptop and it only took me a year of price and feature comparison to pull the trigger. The biggest selling point for me was the ability to build a custom configuration at the factory level with full warranty and protection plan. Remember, I travel, things happen, I am too experienced to take unnecessary chances when a few dollars added to the cost will ameliorate the issue.
What I have is a full fledged workhorse that will run anything, and on which I can play games. I highly recommend the Omen line.

More problems than it should have for the price

I bought this laptop and have a few complaints. The number one issue is that the screen brightness is stuck on maximum. Neither the keyboard controls, nor the software controls have any impact on this. It appears to be a known problem. Various gurus online suggest things like updating drivers, patching BIOS, etc, but those don't seem to actually fix the problem.
Also, the keyboard layout is unconventional, but there is no information in the package or built into the computer setup that explains what the 6 random keys to the left of the qwerty keyboard are for. It wasn't obvious from the images online when I bought it that they'd be there, and I constantly find myself hitting those instead of ctrl or shift as I'd expect to find on the bottom left of a standard keyboard. Perhaps I'll find a use for them someday, but for now they're a nuisance. In fact, there are several non-ideal features of the keyboard layout.
So far the machine mostly functions well. It's certainly faster than the Dell I'm retiring after ~5 years. It's a bit lacking in storage, and has poor documentation. Tech support seems to be insufficient as well.
That said, if I can spare the (likely) several hours that it'll take to get it set up properly, I believe it'll be an adequate machine. Just don't expect delivery inside of 5-6 weeks.

I bought this item about 2 months ago, I actually just got a chance to use my laptop and I am experiencing some issues, opening the "My pictures" folder, and it keep freezing also the other folder I had open closes too. I also been seeing some distortion on the web images when I open the explorer. I have experienced at least twice my laptop froze. Its ah little disappointed about this, especially for what I paid for this laptop...
