I have used the Griddler a few times in the couple months that I've owned it. It does a great job at heating and heating evenly. I only have two issues so far. When cooking chicken breasts, the top plate detaches as it should so that the plate is level on the breasts. However, once you lift the top plate, it does not lock back in to the hinge and that causes the grease or drippings to miss the grease tray at the back of the unit. In order to lock it in, you have to press up on the hot plate. And it is very hot obviously. It would be nice if there was a separate handle on the top plate that stays cool to use as leverage to lock the hinge back in. The other feature that is really nice is that the plates are angled very well for grease to flow to the grease tray. This is excellent until the first time I tried to fry eggs on the griddle side of the plate. About two seconds after cracking and egg, you'll watch it slide across the griddle into the grease tray. I have yet to revisit the manual to see if I am not seeing a way to avoid this. I'm thinking that the same will happen to pancake batter, but I haven't done that yet. I know I have to be doing something wrong because there is no way someone would design a griddle that you cannot cook breakfast on.

This is our second Griddler Deluxe. The first one lasted nearly five years, using it 3-4 times a week. Actually it was still working fine, but the Teflon on the plates was starting to wear off. Buying a new only cost a few dollars more than replacing the plates. The Griddler Deluxe works great on everything, steaks, chops, chicken, burgers, pancakes, and makes fantastic grilled cheese sandwiches. Cuisinart must have gotten complaints about the Teflon on the plates because the Teflon on the new one is much more durable and cleans easier. We hadn't used our old gas grill since we bought the first Griddler, and recently had it hauled away to recycling.

I upgraded to the Deluxe model because of its larger cooking area, floating cover and increased versatility. I can make two quesadillas from 10" wraps (folded in half) or 3 large Reubens from homemade rye bread at the same time. I don't have to do batches anymore for the two of us. I love the floating top section because it prevents "squishing" of food items. I've been making a lot of sourdough rye Turkish style flat breads in minutes with different kinds of toppings and am getting more creative all the time with this Griddler. I've even made black bean chipotle sliders from scratch with a silicone ring mold that makes seven at the time without having to flip any. This is a time saver for anyone who loves to get a quick meal or vegetable sides on too. As a vegan, I love cooking asparagus, eggplant, summer squash, zucchini, hashbrowns, onions and more with the grill marks. I start everything on High heat and then kick it back to medium high and most things are done within 5-7 minutes with very easy cleanup afterwards. If I think I'm going to end up with a cheesy mess (hubby likes more than is recommended, lol), then I use parchment paper and cleanup is minimal. The elongated drip tray is a really big improvement over the previous model too. I highly recommend the Deluxe Griddler to family and friends as it's one of my favorite appliances in the kitchen.

Always used a big gas grill but can’t have one at the Retirement community we moved to, so purchased the the cuisinart griddled, not knowing what to expect. Still getting used to how long to grill things but flavor not much different from cooking on the gas grill. Nice to be able to use it inside and found it very easy to clean when finished.

I bought the Griddler because I like to cook simple proteins and veggies quickly. I bought several family members the Griddler and we all are going in the direction that suits our needs because we all have different eating habits!
The issue I have is that the temperature controls/knobs have writing that is so small it’s hard to read!! I should have bought a model with digital reading but those models don’t have individual plate temp capability.
I like the fact that I can cook on either plate at different temps at the same time but it’s very hard to see the temp control!

we bought this a month ago and have used it many times. It is great for making breakfasts, especially pancakes. It is nice to have space to cook many pancakes which allows me to eat with the family instead of when everyone is done eating. It makes great panni's, sliders and grilled chicken. The chicken tastes just like you would get cooking it on a gas grill. We are very pleased with the Griddler. Plus, it is so easy to clean, just place the plates in the dishwasher.

We LOVE it! Have been cooking Steaks, Hoagies, Grilled cheese, Omelettes, Eggs & Bacon, Hamburgers, Grilled chicken, Reubens, etc. We love Cuisinart products. Great quality! Easy to use & cleans up great. Love that both top & bottom grills have thermostats on them. You won't be sorry buying this. We also bought the Air Fryer Oven from Cuisinart. Just now getting around to use it. Note: You will be really impressed with the "packaging" of their shipments. Have NEVER SEEN such such nicely packaging as they do it. You will see. Definately recommend this Griddle.

Before I go into the review of this item, I want to give some background info. About 2 years ago I purchased a George Foreman Grill and Broil, and I loved it. It was small and for the most part, it was almost perfect for 2 of us. The reason I said "almost" was for 2 reasons. The first was that it was really hard to clean between the handle and the grill plates (their grill plates had handles), and the screws on the grill plates were rusted. The 2nd reason was that after about a year, the non-stick plates were no longer "non-stick" which was kind of a pain. One inconvenient thing about the George Foreman Grill and broiler was that it could only cook 2 steaks, or 2 hamburger patties at a time, which was all we needed most of the time. On a rare occasion it would of been nice to be able to cook 4 patties or 3 steaks, but really wasn't a major deal for me. When storing, I would put the plastic drip tray between the plates, and that was my fatal mistake. I went to use the George Foreman Grill and Broil and forgot to remove the plastic drip tray when I plugged it in to start preheating. I'm sure you can guess what happened :)
So now that I ruined my George Foreman Grill and Broil, I needed a replacement. When I was trying to decide what to get, I came across this gem. First of all, I love how the drip tray actually has a slot in the back that it stays in, so I don't have to store it between the trays. I love the size of the grill plates as I am able to grill 4 burgers at a time if needed, or 3 steaks. I rarely need that extra space, but it is nice to have when I do. I like how the temperature controls have lights on them that will let you know when the plates are preheated and ready to go. I haven't needed to do all of the features that this has at the moment as I primarily use this for burgers and steaks, but I do enjoy having options to try new things at a later date.
The first 2 times I used this grill, when I lifted the cover after cooking to remove the food, the angle of the top plate was such that the grease dripping off of it missed the drip tray and landed on the countertop behind the drip tray. I started placing a paper towel behind the drip tray to prevent this, but now I notice that the top plate is now positioned perfectly so any drippings do go in the drip tray. I think I will continue placing a paper towel behind it just in case, but just something to consider when using it.
Cleaning: here is a major difference between this product and the George Foreman that I had before. With the George Foreman, I found it easiest to clean while the plates were still super hot. Since the plates on that grill had handles, you could remove the plates while they were still hot. The George Foreman was easy to clean the first year when the non-stick plates were still non-stick, but after food started sticking to it it became harder. There are no handles on the plates of this grill, so you have to wait for it to cool down before you can remove the plates and clean them. What I have found is that these clean very easy, and I love how there are no screws attached to the plates that could get rusty.
Overall, I say this is a definite buy if you are in the market for something like this. And if you want my recommendation on the perfect steak, Eye of Chuck or Chuck Eye, depending on the store you shop at. In my opinion, it is a little better than a ribeye for a fraction of the price. They are hard to find though as they are the end pieces the butcher gets when they are cutting the chuck roasts.
