Purchased to replace a similar and much older model that was finally killed by water with very high lime content: worked well for 8-plus years. The only quibble I have with this coffeemaker is that the lid does not fit as tightly as the one on the old coffeemaker. Some steam escapes from the front of the lid, plus though the vent at the back. Otherwise, it makes a good cup of coffee.
