Always the best and always will be! This is my third Brew Central™ 12 Cup Programmable Coffeemaker. Dr. Vaughn, continues to purchase this specific Coffeemaker, year after year. And, each time a replacement is ordered, Dr.Vaughn takes notice of the "upgrades and physical" improvements.

Love the classic look and functional simplicity of this model, and this is our third one. The persisting problem is that, despite following daily use instructions as well as cleaning instructions, we go through periods where the coffee doesn't come out, either at all or not the full pot expected given the water that was put in, and the coffee is dilute. So, we clean it out again, and use a vinegar cycle, etc., and that may fix it for a little while, but in a matter of months, we run into this problem again, and every so often after that.

I bought my first Cuisinart Coffeemaker more than eight years ago. I found it to be dependable and easy to use. When I needed a replacement, I bought another Cuisinart without hesitation. It also is very dependable and brews great tasting coffee every time. My only issue is that this model requires filling the carafe with water and then emptying it into the coffeemaker. My first Cuisinart had a lighted marker on the side of the machine that allowed me to pour the water directly into the coffeemaker. I like that feature much better and will be careful to look for it when I buy my next Cuisinart Coffee Maker.

I had two previous Cuisinart Brew Central 12-cup Coffeemakers that worked perfectly and lasted many years, so I figure the new one I recently purchased would work similarly. Not so! The new one had so many problems I don't know where to begin and don't want to wast time listing all of them. The machine was just terrible!

This coffee brew central looks great but it has a very dumb measuring device. There is no exterior window so you cannot easily see how much water has been added except if you look on the carafe scale which is not always accurate. The measuring device is INSIDE the water reservoir and it contains a white step-like ladder with numbers to show how much water has been added. It is truly impossible to see in the well and accurately know how much coffee to water ratio is needed. I was sent this coffeemaker free as a replacement for the one I had that stopped working so I feel terrible complaining but it is not nearly as good as the one I had. My old one was a 14 cup programmable coffeemaker with an exterior clear measuring device for the amount of water being added and this one is a 12 cup one (I am not unhappy with that) with a stupid, dumb, how could-anyone-design-such a coffeemaker without an exterior, viewable gauge. I had the feeling Cuisinart realized there was a huge problem and they have a large inventory of these machines so they were happy to send me one free and make the company look great. The company may be great but this coffeemaker is not great at all.

I bought this to replace a Cuisinart that I had been using for 3 years that was now making bitter coffee despite my cleaning attempts. This machine does NOT make HOT coffee, even with the temperature selector turner up to hi. I am forced to heat cups in the microwave. The pot is difficult to fill and the fill lines on the carafe do not seem to match up to the step guide inside the pot. For example, the carafe at 6 cups does not come up to the 6 fill step. I have thought of returning this coffeemaker. It came packed in original box so I cannot blame poor functioning on it being a possibly already returned pot.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
