This is the best ever coffee maker, in my humble opinion. This machine, if you clean it monthly, and keep the charcoal filter changed; will last 4-5 years. Mine have. I had one given to me, used twenty years ago, have bought 3 and am more than happy, they brew fast, coffee taste good every time, if it turns bitter, you use too much ground's or need to change charcoal filter.

After owning the 14 cup model I am spoiled. It is so much easier to use filling the see through water tank. This 12 cup you have to fill the carafe which is a pain then pouring it in the tank is so difficult not to spill it. Also the lid on the carafe is difficult to snap on I think it might be defective. I won;t purchase another model like this one.Next time it's the 14 cup.

Coffee pot is easy to use except for the filling area. It's somewhat difficult to fill and the fill marks are hard to see. Otherwise, it's a great device.
