Having had MANY coffee makers in my lifetime, the Cuisinart makes the best coffee of them all! I love all the features - programmable, auto shutoff, warmer temp., etc.The 12-cup carafe is well-designed and comfortable to pick up and carry when full even with my arthritic hands.

Overall, the coffee maker works well. We enjoy the automatic function so that we can set it up the night before and have coffee ready in the morning. However, the place where you pour in the water is in the top, back of the machine. It's a fairly small opening so we frequently spill water off one side or the other. In addition, the coffee maker is tall enough that for me, as a shorter person, it is very hard to see how much water has been poured in. That's my only complaint, but it is enough of an inconvenience on a daily basis trying to add the right amount of water that I had to take away a star.

This is a classic design that I loved for 12 years and which I bought refurbished. When the old one died a good death I was thrilled to find a new model with the same classic design that works even better and matches my kitchen decor.
