Great buy, does more than I thought

I bought this for the surfing feature and was pleasantly surprised with all the other things it does. Still learning actually what all it does. Was a little difficult to figure out, had a younger person show me how to set up the surfing. I think the direction could have been better on how to use put works great once you figure it out. That was the only reason this did not get a 5 star. Looks cool and can buy different color bands to mix up the look!!

The GPS does not work.

Today will be the last time I will give a chance trying the instict solar surf edition. My goal was to track the waves using the surfline session. The GPS cannot accurately track the number os waves surfed. From a surf session of more than 10 waves, it only got two. The funny part is that during one surf session, I had the garmin solar instinct in one arm and another sport watch in the other arm. I would like to have space in this review to upload the screen shot of the GPS track of both watches to show how the garmin is missing most of the waves. In simple words, the garmin surf edition cannot track the number of waves surfed also leading to missing waves and inaccurate visual feedback on the surfline session. By the way, information such as speed and distance in the wave is completely irrelevant in sports like surfing because it depends on many other factors. The visual feedback is relevant for the athletes' training and it is impossible to have it without the accurate GPS connecting to the surfline app.

Surf Garmin Instinct

I really like this watch, but the instruction manual is not very thorough though. I continue to have problems with the tides function (No Tide Data) and can’t figure out how to resolve this.

Solar doesn't charge well or at ALL!(

So bought Instinct Surf less than a month ago. Arrived with 24 day charge. As outdoors men in SE Florida there's ample opportunity for watch to charge, & it doesn't! I've tried everything, including exposing to direct sunlight for HOURS, most it will charge is 5 days and dies in less than 1, not even in use. I've had many Garmin devices I've been very happy with. However, Instinct so far is a TOTAL BUST, would NOT recommend this Garmin Watch!
