Tab M10 Plus 2nd Gen – Can’t Use External Monitor

PROS: Picture quality is actually better than anticipated. Battery life is as advertised. Pleasantly surprised how easy the Android features are to use as a computer replacement, no problems opening or operating various file types. Zero issues with Wi-Fi connectivity and build quality feels solid. Speakers sound fine for being the size of a matchstick.
CON #1: Google Assistant is finicky and not the least bit intuitive. Definitely not set up to work out of the box, mine still won’t enter Ambient mode when placed in the charging station. Numerous blogs out there by others having similar problems.
CON #2: Biggest disappointment is with the USB-C 2.0, turns out it is “only for power and data transfer”. Forget hooking up an external monitor or TV, even with a good quality converter/hub – simply doesn’t work. What’s worse, screencast also won’t connect if you use a VPN for remote streaming. Had I known there was no hardwire monitor connectivity, this likely would have been a deal breaker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Besides that, the tablet is very good, battery life is great! Loads quickly.

Even though it is a brand new tablet the performance is slightly sluggish. I would have expected instant response to touch or voice requests. The screen looks great, the build quality is top notch. Battery life so far is what I expected. Charge time is reasonable. For some reason I thought it had always-on display, but it does not. That would have been a nice feature.
