Great product but …..

My son is a pizza lover like me, but unfortunately we can’t eat pizza every day lol so on those days we can’t eat real pizza this set helps us pretend!
The only downside is there aren’t enough toppings for the entire pizza (i.e. we can’t make a whole pepperoni pizza), which seems like an easy fix so I’m a little disappointed that the Melissa & Doug product team didn’t remedy that.

The pizza with the customizable toppings is very cute, but I feel like it wasn't play tested. When the toppings are placed, you cannot cut through the pizza with the slicer it comes with, as they overlap. So the kids struggle and then either take the toppings off just to cut it, or they just pull the slices apart with their hands. The toppings just need to be smaller and this toy would be perfect!

Got this for a Christmas gift and as soon as it came out of the box it already had paint peeling like its been used and scratched. Not impressed with quality. Probably won't order any more Melissa and Doug if the quality is no better than cheaper brands!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love this toy

My son first played with this set several years ago. It remains one of his favorite pretend food toys. Our local children's museum has a set and he makes lovely pretend pizzas to serve to the family every time we visit. He is a little old to get one of his own, but this is a set he loves to pick out as a gift for younger friends and cousins.
Pros: Entertaining, Fun, Interactive, Realistic

My students get a great kick out of the pizza party wooden play food. It not only encourages imaginative play, but it is a great way to practice practical life learning. I just bought this one for my son for Christmas. I can't wait to see him play with it!
Pros: Durable, Easy Assembly, Entertaining, Fun, Great Value, Realistic

Package needs a top

My daughter loves these wooden food sets (we have the birthday cake and pizza). However, they used to be made with a sliding plexi glass cover for storage - they no longer come with any cover - and it irks my type A personality ;) Great toy - but needs a tidy solution for storage and organization. I have received these as gifts - but wouldn't personally purchase these food sets for this reason.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
