Attractive watch; so so activity tracker w/ App

Attractive, sturdy watch. Easy recharging. When use settings for energy savings, long battery life. Sleep tracker is easy and interesting feedback.
Tracks steps easily but no way to confirm if it is calibrated to your step length. I find that it does not calculate a 2 mile walk accurately for my stride.
Biggest shortcoming is that one cannot add an activity/workout after it occurred as one can in a popular sports fitness watch app. There are winter days where I get in workouts at home. If I forget to initiate the tracker, I cannot add & my "activity streak" is broken :( Additionally, I can finish a run & forget to turn off the tracking. My former sports fitness watch would sense that when I'm driving 55mph on the highway...that it should stop tracking - so Activity is further skewed...the opposite direction.
I like the ability to not be tied to my phone but be aware of calls & texts, if I'm in range to pickup. App is pretty easy to use to download and view feedback.
Summary: I'm still overall happy with the features and like that it does not look like a sports watch, so I'm happy to wear it all the time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

App to run phone dis not work so the phone was dead. Spent quite a bit of time trying to download app. Timex sent new links which also did not work. Why send me a phone that does not work? I had to ask 3 times to get a refund

I was looking for a smart watch that would track my steps, rate my sleep, and let me read texts on-screen - all without breaking the bank - and I found it! I've had 4 different versions of a different brand in the past (now owned by the big G company), and for a while I had none. My biggest problem with previous watches was that the text would disappear from the screen before I could read it. That is NOT a problem with this Timex Metropolitan R! I also love the large size of my watch. My only 2 points of sadness are that I can't set silent alarms on this one (or maybe I don't know how to?) and it doesn't synch with My Fitness Pal. Does anyone know of a food tracking app that WILL synch to the Timex app?!

I think there are better smart phones on the market at this price range. I don't like that you actually have to push the button on the side to see time/date/steps, etc. Really just a basic step counter.

I really loved the design

I really loved the design and was so happy when it arrived. Unfortunately, it doesn't work without a specific timex app and the app doesn't exist in the google play or app store anymore. It just shows a qr code that leads to nowhere when you turn on the watch. It doesn't even tell time without linking to the app, so I returned the watch immediately. Really sad because it really is a cute design.
