Uneven toasting

This retro toaster not only looks good in pictures, it also looks good in person, and the retro Frigidaire logo is a nice touch. Unfortunately, as an actual functional toaster, it fails. The first one I ordered could not toast both sides of the bread evenly. If I set the toaster to toast moderately, one side would be moderate but the other side would be dark, essentially burnt. I returned it and ordered a second one, but it did the same thing so I returned that one too. Perhaps I just happened to get really unlucky with two from the same bad batch or something, but I wasn't going to try a third, despite how nice it looks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not Good.

The package arrived damaged, box completely warped and partly ripped open and re-taped using a different packing tape.
The toaster looked ok, but did not toast the same on each side. One side of the toast was very dark (nearly burned) and the other side was fine. Pretty disappointing experience really.
Now I have the hassle of going to the store to return it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
