Burns the toast at any setting

This unit failed 8 months into the warranty.
No matter what setting you used the toast was burned to the point the smoke detector was triggered.
Reached out to the company (CURTIS) since product was still under warranty and I am getting the run around.
They have requested pictures of the toaster which I've sent.
They now require pictures showing all the edges of the toaster.
Clearly they are just stalling and have no intention of honouring the warranty.
I do not recommend this product.
