GE Dishwasher dead

Dishwasher died after about 5 years worked well first few years then started with many issues others have detailed. Dishwasher would turn on at random times display and beep. Check breakers and breakers are fine. Check power supply and it is fine. Now more often it turns itself on display lights up and beep sometimes dishwasher door is open and sometimes it is closed since we can't figure out which is better for it to remain in a neutral state to keep it from turning on when ever it wants to. Sometimes I unplug for a few minutes and sometimes that works. Other times especially now we simply wait for it to turn itself on then go and run it. Once it's running it's fine and goes through the cycle still. When its done and emptied yes same thing sometimes it turns on by itself display and beep several time during the day or night. When it's on we are always looking for reasons to put things in and run since we don't know when the next time is it will work again. They sure don't make things the way they used to. Also very difficult when you live in a small rural town with only two options and neither are necessarily "reliable". It's pure luck with these purchases lately it seems.

Not recommended!

I do not recommend this product.
I’ve owned this item for approximately five years and it is never had a consistent power source ever. It randomly turns off and stays off, although the plug works just fine and there is no issue at the breaker. It turns off mid cycle, and will not restart leaving water at the bottom of the unit. When it does turn on, the heating cycle is not strong enough to dry the dishes, leaving us to hand dry most of the items.
Look for a higher quality product, do not purchase this one.

GE Dishwasher wont work only 4 years old

I have always owed GE. My GE dishwasher is not working! I have only owned it 5 years! Even though there is power - the lights on the door will not work. We had it hard wired and disconnected that and wired to a plug. No one can figure it out. What a waste of money.

Hot and cold, in no particular order

When it works, it’s perfect. But sometimes it activates itself in the middle of the night despite no interaction. Other times, it goes dark and basically hibernates, completely unwilling to turn on or do dishes. It’s like being in a toxic relationship: hot and cold, temperamental, walking on metaphorical eggshells. Everyone in my four unit condo building has some version of that story.

Dishwasher has stopped working

Dishwasher stopped working. Have had door latch and control board replaced. It ran twice after each repair, then quit again and I think the unit is only about two years old. Since this appears to be a common problem judging by online reviews, perhaps there is a common solution that can be shared by GE or a recall issued. Can't find service manual or schematics online to be better able to discuss with repair man either.

Not worth the money

I have to prewash EVERYTHING. It's.almost completely pointless to have this washer. The performance on this machine is awful. I have a very large family. This machine doesn't save me one second of time. Wish things were made like they used to be.
