This is the second Cuisinart toaster we have owned. The previous was a 4 slice but now that we are in a smaller kitchen and its just the two of us we decided to switch to a 2 slice. I originally ordered another brand, just for a change of pace, but I was very disappointed. The outside of the other toaster (a name brand) got so hot that it was a burn hazard. I quickly returned it and went back to my tried and true Cuisinart. Cool on the outside and great toast on the inside.

We bought this toaster to replace a 20-yr old broken toaster oven that we mainly used for toasting. New toaster ovens don't have the toaster lever anymore so we switched to this toaster and we love it. It toasts both bread and bagels perfectly, has a defrost feature that actually works and a cancel button that ends the toaster cycle early if needed. The toasting adjustment knob works great and has a much wider range than we actually use since our whole family likes relatively light toast. The cool touch, white plastic exterior matches our white kitchen and the toaster takes up less space than the toaster oven it replaced. The price was reasonable too at Kohls on-line. We are very pleased with this toaster.

The toaster is as advertised, however, it does not toast evenly. One side is nearly burned, while the other side is toasted brown. I would not buy again.
