I asked for a 2 slice toaster and received this one as a Christmas gift. Love the black plastic cover which stays cool to the touch. Still learning the best settings for what I am toasting. Seems like a great item and look forward to using it for my toasting needs.

This toaster would not toast bread evenly on the two sides, no matter what setting we put it on. The difference was so extreme that the bread was inedible.. It was so disappointing that we had to return it to the store where we bought it for a full refund.

Makes the toast perfect. Nice golden brown even on the muffin bread I like by using the bagel setting I don't have to do a second time watching it to get it right.

This is what I expect from a toaster:
* Toast bread, bagels, and frozen waffles to the point of golden brown and crunchy.
This is what I got from the Cuisinart CPT-122:
* Bread: 2 stars. Impossible to find correct setting. 3, 2.5, and 2.25 are too dark. 2 is golden brown but not crunchy.
* Bagels: 1 star. (using Bagel button) Ran out of patience trying to find a setting that wasn't too dark.
* Frozen waffles: 0 stars. (using Defrost button) The best I could get was a mix of burnt and raw areas within the same waffle. Totally unacceptable!

I love this toaster. It is everything advertised - compact, multi function and toasts evenly on all of the settings and modes. This is the third toaster I tried after my old toaster finally died. The first two did not toast evenly and one even burnt the edges black on the second setting in addition to being flimsy feeling. Third time's the charm!
