New toaster not as good as one we had for 20years

We had a similar toasted from your company for about 20 years! We replaced it with a similar one from your company. set the new one to similar settings for a bagel and it burned it! I now toast my bagel on 2 1/2 and no bagel setting. It doesn't burn but it doesn't heat through like the old toaster used to do.

Adjustment knob is too loose. Toaster has failed to pop up toast on time causing toast to burn. Feels cheap. This unit is replacing a Cuisinart Stainless Steel model that I had for years. I have many Cuisinart appliances and I even have a Cuisinart ICE-70P1 Cool Creations Ice Cream maker coming today. This is the first time I have an inferior item from Cuisinart.

Toaster does not work well. Bread only toasts well on one side. Only way to turn off the toaster is to pull out the plug.

The dial to set the amount of heat is very loose and I had to tape it to keep it at the setting I wanted. The unit does not toast things evenly. The bottom half will be toasted but the upper half is barely toasted. The spring on the ejector is very weak and often does not push out the toasted item all the way. It's like everything on the unit is weak and cheap. I am really disappointed. I expected more from a name like Cuisinart.

Overall, a nice looking, functional toaster. No different than a dozen other similarly priced toasters, but fine. However, it has one big shortcoming: the range of toasting degrees is not very well calibrated. When the dial is turned all the way up to 'High', an English Muffin will only be mildly toasted, at best.
