It is OK for the price, a bit cheap and tacky feeling, not robust.

First ever food processor

I've been cooking for decades and thought it was about time I had a food processor. I did a lot of research to find the right one for me (not too many gadgets, not too big, not too complicated, modestly priced) and compared different makes and how experts rated them. This model came up frequently and I am really pleased with it. There are only two grating attachments and two blades, plus one large and one small bowl, and the buttons are straightforward (High, Low and Off) and easy to understand. It took a few goes to get the bowl attached correctly, but once I got the knack it was fine. I have nothing to compare this with, but it has done exactly what it says it will so far, which is chop (onions, carrots, garlic and celery diced in seconds) and pulse (ingredients for a salsa). I would recommend this to anyone who wants a basic, decent food processor at a sensible price.

Disappointed

After many reviews I bought this food processor only to quickly realise its not what I expected. The rubber of the small jar keeps falling out, the sticky stuff is very difficult to clean and the machine is not very stable if you chop harder stuff or dough.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I found out about Cuisinart food processors when I read a magazine review, doing an online search. It was the top rated one for the price. It hasn't disappointed. The first thing I made was almond butter, not easy if it lacks power. But it works like a dream, and I've made many things since. It's simple and powerful. It also looks good in the kitchen.

brief review of Cuisinart 1.9L Easy Prep Pro

Beautifully light to lift and move, the Cuisinart has proved very capable and a good deal lighter than my previous Magimix. I’ve only used it a couple of times so far, but so far so good. Admittedly there was one slightly off experience - but that was down to me and using frozen not room temperature butter. I was mixing a cake mix and working with the butter to make it light and fluffy: frozen butter cut into smallish blocks. It was probably the hardness of the butter that caused the machine to jump about; when everything was more at room temperature, the cuisinart stayed stable.
One thing which is disappointing is the rubber band on the mini bowl - once removed for washing I found it doesn’t remain in place quite as consistently as when first used.
