Use only on smooth flat pavement

Great design and comfort, but it won’t go uphill and is super slow even going up the slightest incline. It’s also slow on turf or even smooth dirt path. The manual states that it’s designed for use on flat, smooth pavement. These facts should be included in the advertising. Also, no way to lock it.

Great build quality, very packable

I'm late 40's and bought this when I injured both of my feet (I hated using crutches). When we go away, the seat comes out and handlebars fold down easily so it takes up minimal room in the trunk/boot of the car. Quality is very solid, frame is heavy duty and the handlebar folding mechanism is built to go the distance. There’s also a sneaky little hole next to the seat pegs and a slot in the back of the seat that I loop my bike lock through so that I can lock it when I nip into shops (or the pub =] ).
Now that my feet are better I use it to shoot down to grab takeout instead of waiting for uber eats. Every guy I fly past at 20km/hr wants one!
Things that could be improved without spoiling its function: larger diameter wheels & pneumatic rear tyre, both of which will help when going over pavement cracks/bumps.
I regularly walk my dog with this down the waterfront and I get stopped multiple times by people (of the grey retired vintage) asking questions about it as a mobility solution. Razor could easily market these as mobility solutions to injured peeps like me and even your grandpa who’s pegs maybe a little wonky but who’s still a biker by heart.
I would definitely buy this again and am now eyeing off other Razor products like the Vector. Refreshing to see a company make great stuff!

Not As Advertised

Ten months ago I purchased the Razor UB1 for my granddaughter to go to/from her job at a burger joint since she doesn't own a car. I liked that it was fold-able and could be stored at her workplace. Also, the rear tire was solid and the desert where she lives is full of ground thorns. She used the scooter for about 7 months before it stopped charging so she brought it in to a dealer for diagnostics. The verdict was a bad battery. Razor acknowledged that the battery had failed prematurely and, to their credit, sent the service shop a replacement at no charge. The shop then discovered a faulty switch that had to be replaced. Again, Razor sent a replacement switch at no charge. My 140-lb granddaughter used the scooter for another couple of weeks before it failed again leaving her stranded mid-trip. The shop called Razor who informed us that the scooter was never intended to be used by an adult going uphill and implied that the unit would keep failing if my granddaughter would keep using it to commute.
I purchased the UB1 based upon what I read on the Razor webpage, i.e., “Ages 14 and up” and “Max. Weight 220 lbs.” There is no mention of uphill or downhill prohibitions. This scooter is little more than an expensive toy. I believed the advertising of, “electric…reliability so you can sit back and enjoy the ride” and “last-mile commuting ease.” Clearly my purchase, based on these promises, was a mistake. We are retired and do not have money to blow like this. I do not think that Razor should market the UB1 as anything but a toy for rich peoples’ kids.

The best thing to exist

I had received this as a gift and when I took for a test run I realized it was the best thing to exist it has lithium-ion battery which I think is lit. The motor makes no sound at all which is even more lit. 13.5 MPH overall is ok definitely would be more lit if it went like 20 MPH. It has battery level indication which is lit and it is pretty fun to ride. Like the fact that it is foldable and portable. Also that it has speed control.

So I got my UB1 and thought there is something special about this. The Design is so cool and sleek. It’s the perfect color plus the wheels aren’t big which is nice for me. I sat on it after putting it together in only 5 minutes!! I finally sat on the UB1 perfect kick up peddles and a kick stand. I pushed the button and It took me so fast that I had to jump off the seat and throttle and hold it..lol power!!

Fantastic scooter for last mile solution
on July 11, 2023

I've now had this for a couple days and have rode it on various occasions and I must say I am pleasantly surprised with this scooter. It has a comfy seat and is quite pleasant to ride with the foot rests and thumb throttle. It is incredibly quiet and I definitely get a lot of looks due to its unique design. You would never expect it to be ~26 pounds due to how sturdy the frame is, but it is extremely light and easily transportable. I also have to mention the kickstand is great to have!
I would give this 5 stars, but as some other reviews have mentioned it does struggle to go uphill in some instances. When fully charged it is fine, but as the state of charge decreases it really struggles, maybe going 2-3 mph uphill. I am 185 pounds so I'm well within the weight limit but if it were able to go uphill a little faster that would make it 5 stars (and the hills aren't even that extreme of a slope). The only other nitpick I have is that the folding nature of the front stalk makes the handlebars not align perfectly with the front wheel. It isn't a big deal, but just something I have noticed. I am not sure if there is an adjustment that can be made for that.
Other than all of that, this product is fantastic and I would highly recommend to anyone as a last mile solution!
