i have become very attached to this device after a week of use.
First of all, the keyboard and trackpad is a delight to use. it is so satisfying.
the speed and performance is exactly as i expected. its a very powerful machine.
its very slim and portable. thought it may not be as light weight as you think.
the build quality is supreme. i could go on forever about the premium finishes and materials used.
now, the only problem is the keyboard backlight. the device i have was manufactured in june and it still seems to have that problem. however, this is not even close to a big deal for me. so yeah, take that as you will.
in short, i have fallen in love with it and i expect to use it for at least 5 years before upgrading. so far, it is everything i wanted in a laptop.
make sure to go on the g14 subreddit. they have some really important info about keeping temps low and lengthening battery life. without following those tips, i don't believe this device can unlock even half its true potential.

BUYER BEWARE

You get what you pay for, overall this laptop is low quality.
Issues
-Uneven Backlight, looks like garbage in the dark.
-Software issues BSOD common.
-Sound issues, rattling and distortion.
-Screen ghosts and is low quality for gaming
Overall, i returned this and got a MBP 16" tossed boot camp on and now im much happier. The speakers on that unit mute the fan noise while gaming and the bigger screen is alot better.

My first laptop is this model.
I think it is very pretty and performs well. :)
Several reviews posted on YouTube said it had strong heat and noise, but I don't feels when I use it.

Fine for gaming, but not much else

Honestly, I was so ready to love this laptop. For a gaming laptop I think it's perfect, it's light and just overall a good size. But I would not recommend this to anyone who will be using this laptop mainly for things other than gaming.
First off - the fan noise took me by surprise. I went from a laptop with no fan noise so it was a downside for me, but I get it, it's a gaming laptop so the fans will make noise. The unfortunate thing was that about a week into having it it started making weird noises. The fan sounded like it was squealing or broken, and there was a ton of coil whine, and from a quick search of the subreddit for this laptop, those are not uncommon problems. But I was willing to overlook that too, until the battery started dying within 2 hours. This too is an extremely common problem with others who have this laptop, and I tried all the things to fix it, and nothing did. So I ended up returning it. Overall, the laptop felt kind of badly made, with the problems I had with the coil whine and the fans and the battery. For a $1600 machine I expect something that doesn't start falling apart within a week.
I think this laptop would be very good for gamers who want a powerful machine to game on, while occasionally bringing it out. If you have this on a stand set up in your room and you use headphones while using it, the fan noises are not a problem and I'm sure it could handle any games you throw at it. The battery life is not a problem if you have it plugged in 99% of the time. But if you're a student who has many uses for it other than gaming and needs something very portable, this is not the laptop for you.

One of the best laptops I have ever owned. The keyboard is amazing, the trackpad is very smooth, the speakers blew my mind, no webcam but thats okay. Specs are great. Build quality is out of the world, high quality metal.

Some cons

The fans are super loud when cranked and when you game you need this on because it will get super hot. Another thing is that this is not the AniMe Matrix version even thought costing $1700 I would expect for that version but overall everything else is amazing from build quality to speakers and performance.
