Sleek. Thin. Beautiful and powerful gaming laptop. Also have a Razer Blade pro 17 with an RTX 3079 and would choose this one again over the Blade. Only wish it had a QHD screen and a second NVMe slot and it would be a perfect gaming laptop.

I have nothing to say but good things on the previous ASUS ROG laptop (G752VS) that I still have. This newer one, however, isn't quite the stellar model that the previous unit was. A lot of people have talked about fan issues and, yes, if you're a gamer you'll hear the fan. It's the trade-off for a more portable gaming experience. And, yes, this unit is very fast. However, while the laptop was still in warranty I had a failing fan. Under warranty I sent the unit in and it was serviced right away. But imagine my surprise when I hooked the unit up upon its return and found that the hard drive had been wiped clean. Ouch. I hadn't been warned about that aspect of the repair. Now a diagnostic is showing a failing wi-fi hardware issue. I'm afraid to send it in for fear the laptop will again return with the hard drive wiped. I am not sure if these are common ailments of the ROG Zephyrus S17 or whether this is a one off. Hopefully the latter. Again, maybe it's an issue with portability. Finally, the unit is said to be VR ready. I have two VR units and neither one will play with the Zephyrus.

I like is the skinny design, but has cooling problems. I work with a big screen and I would like to close the laptop monitor but I can’t because the vent system depends of the the screen to be open otherwise you remove close the ventilation. I partially regret buying this computer if I know that before. Also y create a weir smell and sound when I am playing games.
