Disappointed in durability

I enjoyed this blender until it basically twisted itself apart. While I have had it for over a year I have only used it periodically and seasonally since I took it to our vacation home. So not a lot of wear and tear, but the blade assembly in the pitcher unit just twisted itself and broke while making a smoothie with some frozen pineapple chunks. I guess I need to buy a whole new pitcher but it might be a wasted investment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

On 3rd blender in less than a year

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my original blender in March. I use it once daily to make a smoothie. Never use any ice except crushed and yet it continues to burn up. It’s still under warranty but this is the 3rd blender. I don’t think they are meant to be used daily. Kitchenaid has been good about replacing it though

What a blender!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This blender definitely lives up to its brand. My family and I love to get together for game night, and we always have drinks. This blender was the star of the night. Everyone dropped what they were doing to watch it in action. We were all in awe in the smooth sno-cone consistancy of the ice once it was crush. Worked so well we actually made sno-cones for the kids. The motor was very quiet and it did not dance across the counter. It was able to blend a good amount of ice with no problem. This has become the must have at any family get together. It's part of the family now.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Constantly jams

I really wanted to like this blender. I’m not sure if it’s just my blender, but I struggle to even make a small smoothie without having to stop and shake the container around after it jams. I tried a tamper, but that was no help. It’s unfortunate, because I got this blender to replace a crappy blender.

When did KitchenAid stop trying?

We have used KitchenAid countertop appliances for years. Recently our KitchenAid blender stopped working and we replaced it with the K150 3 Speed Blender. Compared side by side to the KitchenAid blender it was replaced, there was no comparison. The K150 itself was made of cheap plastic, the glass jar has been replaced with thin plastic, the jar sits very loosely on the blender body, the motor is louder and vibrates more than its predecessor, and every time I turned the dial to the top setting, the knob vibrated off! This is going back and it will be the last KitchenAid appliance I ever buy. What a disappointment.

Powerful but quieter than most others

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After purchasing a couple of other blenders that either didn't do the job, or died after a couple of months I decided to buy this one. It has so much more power that the others I had, and it is a lot quieter. Digs right through fruit, frozen and fresh, mixes up the perfect malts, and is easy to clean.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great while it lasted

Great while it lasted. After using this only 3 times, it only works on setting 3 or pulse, sometimes doesn’t work at all.
