[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 5-year-old loves this Risk Junior game. He loves the battles and the treasure chests and he says it's lots of fun. It was easy for him to understand how to play. The game is well made. A good activity for both our kids (5 and 9).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this game a month ago and have played a few times. My son loves it and is always asking to play. During the times where we are at home more we are always looking for new fun ways to spend our time and this was a great addition to our game collection. The directions are a little vague but easy to figure out. We definitely recommend this for parents with younger children!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I know almost everyone has played the regular risk game but it's not really the same. This was made for the younger crowd though. My 6 year old had so much fun with it. It is so easy to play and it doesn't last that long. Which is also great for younger kids.

Fun for the little ones

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a game for 2-4 players, ages 5 and up. But not much more “up.” I’d say probably 8 or 9 is about the upper limit that you’re going to see still have fun with this game for more than a couple rounds.
A very beginner strategy game, Risk Junior is pirate themed; the object being to amass as much money and land (islands) by the end of the game. The game board consists of islands that you move your boat around and “battle” for with the other players. When you land on someone else’s claimed island, you battle by launching the dice out of your boat, and the higher number wins. It’s a very simple concept that young players will grasp quickly.
The main hook of this game seems to be that the boat piece doubles as a dice launcher. You put the dice in the front of the boat and you mash a built-in lever to make it go flying. It’s really fun for the little ones, but kind of annoying because they want to move the boat off the board to launch... and then forget where their boat was on the board. I think it would be much better if there was just a colored token to mark their place, and the boat piece could always just be in front of the player.
One more thing, just a pet peeve- the pirate tokens and treasure tokens are made of card stock and are loose in the box. It would be nice to have included a bag so they don’t get lost.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for the kids! Moms, if your looking for something to occupy the kids while you go bake a cake then Risk Jr is the game to have. It's easy enough for them to learn and will keep them occupied for a good hour.
