I bought a Thule Crossover in 2012 and loved it. This is the upgraded version and I am in love with it!!! Amazing product, grateful to have Thule as a household brand. We *always* buy thule.

Disappointing Backpack
on February 16, 2023

I've been using this backpack for a week now and I'm quite disappointed with the organization for smaller items.
Let's start with the good.
I love the overall aesthetics and look of the bag. I love that the bag maintains it's shape and stands up on the floor. It's also made of really durable, luggage material, so there's no doubt it will have a long life of daily use.
Now for the bad...
I really hate that there is not much storage for smaller items in the front pocket. The front pocket is deceptively small and there is not much room to store anything with creating unsightly bulges on the bag that make it difficult to zip it closed. I would've much rather preferred shrinking the large compartment of the bag by a couple inches to make more space in the front of the bag for smaller items.
The zipper pulls are all metal, and very noisy. It sounds like I'm walking around with little bells on.
I hate the water bottle pocket. My 532 ml steel water bottle from a well known brand fits too loosely and slips out if the bag is place flat on a seat or desk top. I would've much preferred the typical mesh pouch on the side like most backs use. I also dislike how it looks with the side pockets puffed out with a bottle in it, it ruins the aesthetics.
I hate that the main compartment is mostly open space - might be great for storing packing cubes of clothes or larger items like a coat, but this is a business bag, so more flexibility for storing smaller items in the front pocket would've been better. There's not even a proper spot to store my laptop mouse and power adapter!
I hate that the "paper" pocket in the main compartment of the bag is not more rigid or flat. This leads to my loose papers or soft folders getting a bit warped in the bag - not great for business use.
I was surprised that the padding on the bottom of the laptop compartment doesn't have better coverage. There's a gap in the padding where the laptop could hit the floor directly when being put down.
Overall, I wish I could return this bag but I'm now stuck with it. Very disappointed with Thule as they were highly recommended for their excellent luggage and quality other products. The Crossover 2 backpack just misses the mark for my everyday and travel laptop backpack of choice.

Great look and feel. Perfect for taking on the airplane. Was able to bring along all my electronics with plenty of room to spare.

Section don’t open wide enough

I love the look, construction and quality but the design of the three sections is very poor. You have to go digging for items in the dark since the zipper is not lower enough to allow the sections to open wider to be able to see inside. Needs better compartments to organize computer accessories like mouse, power bucks and cables. Did not realize these flaws until I used it an after the 30 days or would have returned.

Thank you for your input on the Thule Crossover 2 backpack. The Thule Crossover 2 is designed to meet the needs of most commuters through accessibility and organization features. The front pocket of the bag has a series of sections designed for stowing chargers, cables, and other small accessories so they are always easy to find. While the bag does not open all the way to the bottom, it does allow for some of the most access out of any of Thule's laptop backpacks. The Thule Crossover 2 is designed to stand upright for easy loading, so some lateral support is necessary to ensure it stands easily. I'm sorry to hear this bag did not meet your needs. If opening fully in a "clamshell" design is a priority for your bags, I recommend taking a look at the Thule Aion 28L, which opens fully to access the main storage compartment for travel packing. https://www.thule.com/en-us/backpacks/backpacking-travel-backpacks/thule-aion-travel-backpack-28l-_-3204721

Great backpack, but shipping is way too slow

Love the backpack. Looks great. Many pockets to store many different things in. Wish one side pocket was lined to keep can drinks cool. Straps could be a little longer.
