[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had purchased at Lenovo E485 18 months ago which ended up having a failure and died. I do use my laptops as true laptops thus upgraded to the T series (T490) and have already noticed the build quality difference between consumer model and business model. For added security I went with a full 3 warranty including spill coverage. The price difference was much for the upgrade, also included all the bells and whistles on new model (IR, BIO SSHD etc.) Hopefully this machines last 3plus years.

The ThinkPad T490 has the general look and feel of the ThinkPad family with a soft black paint finish and the same sturdiness like the X1 Carbon.
The keyboard is a typical “ThinkPad keyboard” with all the goodness that comes with it: comfortable 1.3mm key-travel, curved keys, and spill-proof. In short, it has an impeccable typing experience. This keyboard is backlit (2 levels of brightness) is very handy at night, in bed, or in a plane. It is a great typing experience.

So, I upgraded to a new ThinkPad T490. WOW! I am bowled over by the new features. The touchscreen is amazing. Speed is so much better. Ability to interface with other devices is fantastic. I am more than happy with my purchase. I am ecstatic!!!!
