My only complaint is that the laptop itself is very prone to fingerprints. And that's definitely something I can live with. Would highly recommend this brand/model to others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was in the market for my first laptop in years, and my biggest concerns were performance, price, and Linux compatibility. I was looking for a computer I could develop on. I have heard very good things about ThinkPads, so they made my list, and I was also considering the Dell XPS. I ultimately chose the former, and I have been very impressed. When I picked up the box it was shipped in, I was shocked at how light it was, and of course, the laptop itself is even lighter. The construction seems very solid, and I was able to install Fedora 30 without any problems. That said, I have not tested every hardware feature super rigorously, but the major things seem to work well. I am very pleased with my purchase, and I look forward to using it more.

From 2012 onwards I am using Lenovo Think Pad. My first version is Lenovo T440. Till today it is working and my children's are using. I bought T480 in the year 2017 and gifted to my wife. Now I bought T490. Lenovo Think pads are Light weight with strong performance. I found they are very reliable for home usage. For home user the initial investment is high. Since the failure rates are very less and reliable performance. No frequent replacement of Laptops required. Hence the investment can be easily recovered by long time or period of usage.
Also the Laptops are sleek in design, Light weight. The Keyboards have a matte, smooth surface and are slightly concave. This also makes typing on this keyboard very comfortable.
System performance very good for everyday operation. No crashes and abnormalities observed.
For me even though the Lenovo ThinkPad T490 is a very good business laptop as a long time usage it can be best suitable for Home usage.

I have been using W540 model for the last 5 years. T490 is a great upgrade to that. Not even it is much more powerful in terms of performance, it seems much smaller, thinner and light. I'm definitely satisfied.
