[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my new primary work laptop. After using gen 1 and gen 2 X1 Carbons forever, this machine feels very similar. It's not quite at thin or light, but it's not bad. Screen and keyboard layout are identical making the switch easy. It could use an extra USB C port on the right side, but otherwise has all of the ports you'd typically need. Battery life is good, but I haven't used it long enough to comment other than 7 hrs seems easily achieved. Thermal management is excellent and it is rare to hear any fan noise whatsoever. The screen works great under a variety of lighting conditions and the matte finish keeps reflections to a minimum. Fingerprint reader is quick, the BIOS is easy to use, and overall the machine is the same typically solid build you'd expect from a Lenovo business machine. Like other Lenovo's, the surface is easy to grip, easy to clean, but does attract marks easily.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Dell for the longest time and switched to Lenovo. It is really surprising that it is really fast. I have dell latitude 7470 with 16gb ram and it seems not enough with the multiple applications that need to open simultaneously. and with the T490 that i have its really surprising the speed and i don't feel any lags. its a good thing that we switched on with this unit.

Extra features makes it quite convenient to use: webcam off/on switch, HDMI and usb-c that can be used for external monitors, micro SD slot, headphone jack that automatically detects headphone mic. Battery life decent.

It has a useful variety of ports, it runs fast enough for anything one would reasonably want to do on a laptop, and the battery life is great. Furthermore, it's designed to give easy access to its components. This means that when I want to upgrade my RAM or SSD or replace the battery, I am able to without much trouble, unlike many other laptops.
